On 7th March 2013, John conducted the annual Oxford Philomusica Composition Workshop (part of the orchestras’ significant residency at the University of Oxford). Carefully selected composers, submitting for both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, benefited from hearing their works in the flesh.  The event was open to the public, and Robert Saxton and Martyn Harry supervised their student composers.  The slected works included Samuel Parsons  Mont Veroux, David Todd The Traveller’s Triptych,  Solfa Carlile Ithaca,  Dan Jeffries Sorry I Forgot,  Michael Papadopoulos  Gianfranco Overture,  Chris Williams Theoria Sacra Undarum,  and Nigel McBride Multiple Entities.
